Example 5.2. Global Mean Altitude with Profiler and Sonar Applications
• The Bottom Profiler form is calculating Mean Altitude which has been made
Global.
• The Top Imaging (Sonar) form will automatically pick up the Global Mean
Altitude. If it’s Sonar has been configured for downward scanning (i.e. the
Display – Rotation offset value is set to 180 degrees), then a Mean Altitude
reference line will automatically be drawn.
5.2. Gate Alarm
5.2.1. Overview
The gate alarm function is a feature that can be used to monitor the position
of the Profiler data points. One or more overlays can be positioned on the
Profiler display to act as a gating zone. If any configured number of Profiler
data points fall inside/outside this gating zone then an alarm is activated to
warn the user.
The on-screen alarm will activate the PC speaker and at the same time, the
alarm text “Warning” will be displayed on the Profiler display.
