Out-of-the-Box Installation
Plan the Layout Path and Deploy the CAT5 cable
Step 1: Lay out the CAT5 cable according to your planned path.
Confi guring the Transmitter Unit
Step 2: Connect one end of the CAT5 cable to the RJ45 port of the Transmitter Unit.
Step 3: Connect the Transmitter Unit to the PC/KVM using the Slim 3-in-1 PS/2 KVM cable and/or a USB cable. (Note that if you are using a USB interface, you
should connect to the PC/KVM’s VGA port using the HDB15 connector of the Slim 3-in-1 PS/2 KVM Cable. Instead of using the PS/2 connectors of the KVM
Cable, connect a USB cable from the Transmitter Unit’s USB port to the PC/KVMs USB port). The Transmitter Unit is powered through the connector interface
with the computer.
Step 4: Set up Local Console: Connect a keyboard, mouse and monitor to the Transmitter Unit’s Console connectors.
Step 5: Power on the computer(s), and check the keyboard, mouse and video output on the Local Console to see if they are working properly. Everything should
be working properly before you proceed to the following steps.
Confi guring the Receiver Unit
Step 7: Connect the other end of the CAT5 cable to the RJ45 port of the Receiver Unit.
Step 8: Connect the power adapter to the Receiver Unit to power it up before connecting the keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Step 9 Set up the Remote Console: Connect a keyboard, mouse and monitor to the Receiver Unit’s Console ports.
Step 10: Check the keyboard, mouse and video output on the Remote Console to see if everything works fi ne. At this point, the video may be blurry, requiring
you to adjust the Gain and/or Equalization.
Step 11: Adjust the video Gain and/or Equalization level by turning the two mechanical knobs on the front-panel of the Receiver Unit.
Confi guration Hotkeys
The B013-330 CAT5 KVM Extender Set provides confi guration hotkeys that are available on the local console only, since the remote console might be located in
a non-secured area where access may need to be restricted. With these hotkeys users can block or grant access from the remote console; or, they can put the
remote console into view-only mode. If the user needs to use a different hotkey preceding sequence, it can be switched to one of 5 different hotkeys.

Change the hotkey preceding sequence to one of 5 choices using the sequence below:
H + (x)
x = Scroll, CAPS, F12, NUM, Esc
Toggle Remote Console ON/OFF
Turn Remote Console access On/Off using the following sequence:
S Power LED fl ashes in fast mode
Toggle Remote Console View Only ON/OFF
Turn the Remote Console View Only Mode On/Off using the following sequence:
K Power LED fl ashes in slow mode
