WIRING A RELAY FOR DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION (POSITIVE DOOR TRIGGER)
•
Many alarm or remote start systems include the optional feature of dome light supervision. Dome light
supervision is the ability of a security system to turn on the vehicle’s interior courtesy lights or dome light for a
short time when the system is disarmed/unlocked. This allows the owner to check the interior for an intruder
before entering.
NOTE:
For dome light supervision connect the dome light supervision output as shown:

TESTING THE NEGATIVE DOOR TRIGGER/DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION WIRE
•
The door trigger wire can typically be found at the fuse box or in the driver’s kick panel. Some models may
require finding the door trigger wire in each kick panel or in one or more of the vehicle’s doors.
To find the (-) door trigger wire with your multi-meter:
1. Set to DC voltage
2. Attach the (+) probe to 12V constant
3. Probe the wire you suspect of being the door trigger wire with the (-) lead
4. The meter should indicate 12V with the door open if you have found the correct wire
5. The meter will then read 0V when the door closed.
