HORN KITS
1. Installing the Horn
First, locate a secure area to mount the horn. Drill
holes for each horn mount. Secure the horn using the
provided mounting hardware.
2. Installing the Air Compressor
Disconnect the battery cable from the vehicle
and place the air compressor in a secure area, either
upright or horizontally.
DO NOT mount upside down.
Install the air compressor assembly, making sure to
mount the air compressor where it will receive air
flow. Mount the air compressor above the air tank. To
get a 100% seal, use Teflon tape on all fittings.
3. Installing the Air Tank
Double-check that the hose from the compressor to
the air tank is a suitable length. When the tank is
positioned in the desired location, secure it with the
provided mounting hardware. Be sure to mount the
tank in a low-traffic area, away from windows.
4. Installing Tubing
Double check all measurements before cutting and
fitting tubing. Leave about 1 inch extra per air line to
work with. To prevent any air leaks, use Teflon
sealant on all fittings. Check for kinks in the tubing
after installation. Connect air compressor to air tank
and secure all connections. Connect the pressure
switch to tank using Teflon sealant. Connect air tank
to air valve, then valve to horn, using Teflon sealant.
Make sure to properly cut tubing and use all appro-
priate fittings.
Troubleshooting the Horn Kit
The sound of the horn changes.
Make sure the air source from the valve is entering
the right manifold, then double-check that each air
line is of equal length.
There is moisture in the horn.
To get rid of moisture, depressurize and drain the
tank. Then move the compressor to a less humid
location.
The horn isn’t making any sound.
Make sure the air tank is pressurized, make sure
switches are on, replace fuses and check that all
electrical circuits are secure.
The compressor isn’t running.
Check the fuses and switches, and replace the
pressure switch if necessary.
There is a knocking sound.
Replace the air compressor and move it to a cooler
location.
Routine Maintenance
•Clean the horn kit monthly
•Drain the air system at least once a month to
remove condensation
•Change the air filter periodically
•Do routine checks for debris near the kit
Intended for off-road use only.
Use Teflon tape on all fittings.
Mount tank away from windows.
