 Inflator & Hand Pump

For your safety and the enjoyment of this product, please read these instructions in 
their entirety before using your pump.

Use only Bontrager CO

2

 threaded cartridges. See the Safety instructions on page 

2

.

This product fits both Presta and Schrader valves.

Hand pumping

1. Turn the cartridge valve on the end of the 

pump clockwise to the CLOSE position.

2.a. 

Schrader valve:

 Turn the top nut on the 

pump valve counterclockwise so it’s snug on 
the bottom nut.

2.b. 

Presta valve:

 Turn the top nut on the pump 

valve clockwise and pull the nut to extend 
the connector.

3. Remove the valve cap from the valve stem.

Presta valve:

 Fully open the valve on top of the valve stem.

4. With one thumb, hold the tire so 

that the valve stem protrudes from the rim. 

5. With the other hand, ease the pump 

onto the valve stem and turn the pump 
valve nut to tighten on the valve stem.

6. Release the tire.

7. Use the pump handle to inflate the tire.

8. Follow the inflation recommendations on the side of the tire.

NOTE:

 Make sure the tire beads are correctly seated in the rim.

9. When inflation is complete, unscrew the pump valve nut from the valve stem.

Presta valve:

 Close the valve on top of the valve stem.

10. Replace the valve cap on the valve stem.

Inflating with CO

2

The CO

2

 cartridges are pressurized. The sudden release of pressure  

can cause severe injury or death. Always follow the safety instructions 
on page 4.

 

WARNING

1. Remove the valve cap from the valve stem.

Presta valve:

 Fully open the valve on top of the valve stem.

2. Turn the cartridge valve on the end of the 

inflator clockwise to the CLOSE position.

3.a. 

Schrader valve:

 Turn the top nut on the 

pump valve counterclockwise so it’s snug 
on the bottom nut.

3.b. 

Presta valve:

 Turn the top nut on the pump 

valve clockwise and pull the nut to extend 
the connector.

4. Fully thread and tighten a cartridge 

onto the inflator. 

NOTE:

 Do this all in one continuous motion. As you thread the cartridge on, a pin in 

the inflator punctures the cartridge. Some CO

2

 may leak before the seal is closed. 

5. With one thumb, hold the tire so that the valve 

stem protrudes from the rim.

6. With the other hand, ease the pump onto the 

valve stem and turn the pump valve nut to 
tighten on the valve stem.

7. Release the tire.

8. To begin the flow of CO

2

, turn the 

cartridge valve to the OPEN position.

9. You can turn the cartridge valve to 

adjust the flow of CO

2

. CLOSE to decrease the flow; OPEN to increase 

the flow.

10. Follow the inflation recommendations on the side of the tire. 

NOTE:

 Avoid inflating the tire too rapidly. Make sure the tire beads are correctly 

seated in the rim.

11. To stop the flow of CO

2

, turn the cartridge valve fully to the CLOSE position.

12. When inflation is complete, unscrew the pump valve nut from the valve stem.

Presta valve:

 Close the valve on top of the valve stem.

14. Replace the valve cap on the valve stem.
