BB115
Thank you for choosing the Traynor Big Block Bass amplifier combo. You will discover that this bass amp sounds
“just right” with a minimum amount of effort and knob twirling.
Features
• The power LED displays the status of the amplifier (power up, ready, fault and mute).
• Inputs for standard passive pickups (0 dB) and extra-hot / active pickups (-6 dB) are provided.
• Dial-in the perfect amount of sensitivity, clarity and warmth (or even a touch of overdrive) with the Gain control.
• The Master volume controls the overall volume of the Big Block.
• The Low Expander tailors your sound precisely and uniquely by extending the lows, reducing the mids
and taming the highs.
• Active Bass, Low-Mid, Hi-Mid and Treble tone controls provide up to 15dB of cut or boost.
• The Mute button cuts the audio signal to the speaker/s without affecting the Tuner output.
• The balanced XLR Line Out is selectable Pre or Post EQ and includes a Ground Lift option.
• EFX Send and Return for using external effects or connecting multiple amplifiers.
• A selectable Limiter helps prevent excessive amplifier clipping.
• Phones jack connects headphones for practicing silently or for monitoring in the studio; please note that
connected to headphones disconnects signal to the main amp.
• A full-range speaker system with matched 15-inch LF and 1-inch HF drivers.
• A Tweeter In/Out switch.
• Speakon® connector for connecting an external 8-ohm cabinet
Please take a little time to read the following instructions; then plug in, switch on, and unleash your musical creativity!
1. Power/Status and Power LED
The power LED on the front panel displays the status and condition of the amplifier. When powering up, the Traynor
Big Block (switch on rear panel), the LED illuminates red for a few moments and then turns blue when the amp is
ready to go. If the Mute is engaged or a fault is detected the LED will illuminate red. The power switch and circuit
breaker are located on the rear.
2. 0dB/Passive, -6dB/Active Inputs and Clip
The Traynor Big Block input circuit has been designed for most basses but as we know, all basses are not created
equally. Some basses have higher signals while others have very low signals, the Traynor Big Blocks feature inputs
that accommodate a wide range of basses by including both 0 and -6 db inputs.
For basses with standard, single-coil pickups, we suggest the 0 dB input; for active or extremely ‘hot’ pickups, such
as humbuckers, try using the -6 dB input. In all cases, the Gain control setting will establish the type of clean or over-
driven sound being produced by the amp.
3. Limiter Switch
To prevent hard clipping of the power amp, a selectable peak limiter is provided.
