5.3.4 Loop Protection
This feature prevents loop attacks. When receiving loop packets, the port will be disabled
automatically,
preventing the loop attack from affecting other network devices.
Loop Protection Configuration

Protection
Activate loop protection functions (as a whole).
Transmission Time
The interval between each loop protection PDU sent on each port. The
valid value is 1 to 10 seconds.
Shutdown Time
The period (in seconds) for which a port will be kept disabled when a
loop is detected (shutting down the port). The valid value is 0 to 604800
seconds (7 days). A value of
0
will keep a port disabled permanently
(until the device is restarted).
Port
Switch port number.
Enable
Activate loop protection functions (as a whole).
Action
Configures the action to take when a loop is detected. Valid values
include
Shutdown Port
,
Shutdown Port
, and
Log or Log Only
.
Tx Mode
Controls whether the port is actively generating loop protection PDUs
or only passively look for looped PDUs.
