WCI Mounting and Wiring
Mounting and wiring instructions for controller applications and repeater applications are given in this
section.

Hazardous Service Procedures!
Failure to follow all precautions in this manual and on the tags, stickers, and labels could result
in death or serious injury.
Technicians, in order to protect themselves from potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical
hazards, MUST follow precautions in this manual and on the tags, stickers, and labels, as well
as the following instructions: Unless specified otherwise, disconnect all electrical power
including remote disconnect and discharge all energy storing devices such as capacitors
before servicing. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power can not be
inadvertently energized. When necessary to work with live electrical components, have a
qualified licensed electrician or other individual who has been trained in handling live electrical
components perform these tasks.
Important:
To comply with FCC and IC regulations, do not mount the WCI within 20 cm (8 inches) of
any other radio device.
Controller Applications
1. Remove power from the controller that is to have the WCI wired to it.
2. Remove the WCI cover by firmly pressing the thumb tab at the bottom of the cover and pulling the
cover away from the back plate as shown in the following figure.
Note:
If present, remove the security screw before removing the cover.

3. Secure the backplate to the mounting surface using appropriate hardware. (M3.5 x 20 mm self-
drilling screws are provided.)
