5. Reinstall the blanking caps of the

service valves.

6. Disconnect the service hoses and

reinstall the cap on the charging
port. (Tightening torque: 70 to

2. Additional Charge

Refrigerant suitable for a piping length
of 3.5 to 5.0 meters is charged in the
outdoor unit from the factory. When the
piping is longer than 5 m, additional
charging is necessary. For the
additional amount, see table below.

Between 5 m and 10 m, when using
connection pipe lengths other than
that in the table, charge additional
refrigerant with 0.56 oz (16g)/3.3ft.

Caution

• FREON GAS “R22” ONLY

• Always evacuate air from the piping

before adding refrigerant.

• Add refrigerant through the

charging valve after the completion
of removing the blanking caps and
fully open the service valves.

Gas Leakage Inspection

After charging with refrigerant, check
the joints for gas leakage with gas leak
detector or a soap bubble solution.

Outdoor Unit Wiring

1. Remove the outdoor unit terminal

cover (Figure 21).

2. Route the connection cable through

the cable entry brushing and up to
the terminal block.

3. Insert the end of the cable wires

into the terminal block connectors
as shown on the unit wiring
diagram (Figure 11).

4. Tighten the terminal block

connector screws.
(Torque: 7-12 kgf-cm).

• The appliance shall be installed in

accordance with national wiring
regulation.

Caution

• The connector cable wires must be

connected such that terminal
numbers on the indoor unit match
those on the terminal block of the
outdoor unit (Figure 11).

• Insert the connection cable wires

into the terminal block firmly.
Incorrect insertion may cause a
safety problem.

5. Replace the outdoor unit terminal

cover.
