Upfl ow / Horizontal  Furnace  Filters

The Upfl ow/Horizontal furnace when installed horizontally
requires a horizontal fi lter kit.  The fi lters may be located
remote to the furnace or in the return air duct near the fur-
nace.  Check with your dealer for the location of your fi lters.

An upfl ow/horizontal furnace in horizontal return air fi lter
application, as shown, features two 16" x 20" x 1" fi lters in
the 17-1/2", 21" and 24-1/2" wide furnace cabinets.

To replace fi lters, remove the fi lter access door, lift the
fi lter from the lower bracket and shift the fi lter to the side
to free the top fi lter from the bracket and slide the fi lters
out through the fi lter access door.  After cleaning, replace
the fi lters in the same manner making sure that the fi lters
are secured in place in both top and bottom fi lter brackets.
Replace fi lter access door.

Air fi lters may also be located outside of the furnace using
a remote fi lter grille

.

The fi lter grille could be in a hall-

way, wall, or in the ceiling.  Check with your dealer for the
exact location of your fi lter and the method of changing the
fi lters.
