5. Safety valves and systems
For your protection, the Tramontina Pressure Cooker comes with the
following safety valves and systems:
1. WORKING VALVE:
(PRESSURE RELEASE):
This valve
is triggered into action when the cooker reaches its
operating pressure (12 psi). It should be wound down to
the bottom for the correct working position.
NOTE:
For proper operation of the cooker, the working
valve does not have to be moving, but the pressure must be released from
the cooker evenly.
2. SAFETY VALVE:
will come into operation relieving pressure when the
Pressure Regulator is blocked. In this case, the Valve pin moves upward,
decreasing internal pressure, figure A. When this occurs, turn off the
heat, cool it down, and make sure that there is no internal pressure before
opening the pot. Remove the Pressure Regulator, unclog the orifices of
the Steam Vent Pin and put it in place again. Return the Safety Valve Pin
to the right position (original position), figure B, by pressing it downward.
Only restart the process when the pin is in the original position. If there is
frequent steam vent through the Safety Valve, and the Pressure Regulator
is not blocked, replace it with a new, original one.
3. LATERAL SAFETY SYSTEM:
will be engaged when both the Pressure
Regulator and the Safety Valve are obstructed simultaneously, generated
excessive internal pressure. If this happens, the pressure will be released
TO SET THE SAFETY VALVE IN PLACE.
TO RAISE THE SAFETY VALVE.
