Data Connections
Internet Access Overview
While the TracPhone system is online with the mini-VSAT Broadband
service, you can perform all of the same Internet tasks you perform at
home:
• E-mail
• Web browsing
• Weather and chart updates
• Instant messages
• Corporate network access (VPN)
• Data transfers
Connecting to the Internet
To connect to the Internet, follow these steps:
1.
Make sure the TracPhone system is online.
2.
Open a web browser window on any computer connected to
the network.
3.
If you’re unable to connect, make sure your computer is
configured for DHCP addressing. Refer to
Computers for DHCP” on page 55
.
Important!
High-bandwidth applications, such as peer-to-peer file sharing, web
cameras, streaming media, and high-speed gaming, are not
supported by fixed rate plans. For details, be sure to read all of the
