COASTER_GW-E
You may drain the fuel filter yourself. However, as the operation is dif-
ficult, we recommend having it drained by your Toyota dealer. Even if
you decide to drain it yourself, contact your Toyota dealer.
1HZ engine: The water in the fuel filter needs to be drained if the fuel
filter warning light comes on and buzzer sounds. (
N04C-UH, N04C-VL and N04C-VQ engines: The water in the fuel fil-
ter needs to be drained if the fuel system warning light flashes and
buzzer sounds. (
N04C-WA engine: The water in the fuel filter needs to be drained if the
“DRAIN WATER FROM FUEL FILTER” will be shown on the multi-
information display.
Place a small tray under the drain plug to catch the water.
Perform the draining as shown in the illustration.
Turn the drain plug about 2 to
2 1/2 turns.
Loosening more than this will
cause water oozing from around
the drain plug.
Operate the priming pump
until the fuel begins to run
out.
After draining, retighten the drain plug. Do not use a tool.
NOTICE
■
Do not use any fluid other than washer fluid
Do not use soapy water or engine antifreeze instead of washer fluid.
Doing so may cause streaking on the vehicle's painted surfaces, as well as
damaging the pump leading to problems of the washer fluid not spraying.
■
Diluting washer fluid
Dilute washer fluid with water as necessary.
Refer to the freezing temperatures listed on the label of the washer fluid bot-
tle.
