•
Do not stop the engine immediately after p u l l i n g a
trailer or high speed or u p h i l l driving. Idle the engine

1 20 seconds, depe n d i n g on the severity of the
driving condition.

Avoid sudden racing or accelerat ion immediately
after starting a cold engine.
•
I f the turbocharger is defective and must be rep
laced, first c heck for the cause of the defect in
reference

the following items and replace parts if
necessary:
Engine oil level and quality
Conditions under which turbocharger was used
O i l lines leading to turbocharger
•
Use caution when removing and reinstalling the tur
bocharger assembly. Do not drop it or bang it against
anything or grasp i t by easily- deformed parts, such
as the actuator or rod, when moving.
•
Before remo v i n g the turbocharger, plug the intake
and e x haust pots and oil inlet to prevent entry o f dirt
or other foreign material.
•
I f replacing the turboc harger, check for accumula
tion o f sludge particles in the oil pipes and, i f
necessary, replace t h e oil pipes.
•
Completely remove the gaskets adhered to the
lubrication oil pipe flanged and turbocharger oil
flange.
•
If replac ing bolts or nuts, d o so only w i t h the
specified new ones to guard against breakage or
deformation.
•
II replac ing the turbocharger, put 20 c c 1 1 . 2 c u in.

oil into the turbocharger a l l inlet and turn the
impeller wheel by hand to spread oil to the bearing.
•
I(
overhauling or replacing the engine, cut the fuel
supply and ignition function after reassembly and
crank the engine for 30 seconds to distribute oil
throughout the engine. Then a l low the engine to idle
for 6 0 seconds.
