4 Replacement Procedures

4.21 System board

CAUTION: When replacing with a new system board, the following procedures must

be executed.

(1) Before replacing the system board, execute subtest02 “DMI

ggg

information save” in 3.3 Setting of the hardware configuration of

ggg

Chapter 3 Test program in order to save the DMI information from

ggg

system board to floppy disk.

(2) After replacing the system board, execute the subtest03 “DMI

ggg

information recovery” and subtest01 “Entry of the DMI information”

ggg

in order to copy the DMI information and system configuration

ggg

information.

(3) Also update the BIOS and EC/KBC with the latest ones according to

the steps described in Appendix G and Appendix H.

Handle the system board C and D portions with both hands.
