Color Function
C37.94
RX
Green Data (not always ‘1 (level: high)’) being received from IED.
TX
Green
Data (not always ‘1 (level: high)’) being sent for the IED.
CF
Red
Loss of signal (LOS) or detection of the erroneous data
YAL
Red
Detection of “Yellow alarm bit” in header of C37.94†
G.703
RX
Green
Data (not always ‘1 (level: high)’) being received from MUX
TX
Green
Data (not always ‘1 (level: high)’) being sent for MUX
CLK
Green
LED instructs the CLK signal “1 (level: high)” being detected.
DC
PWR
Green
DC 5V generated in good order
†Note: If the CF is detected together with YAL at the same time, YAL is switched off
unconditionally.
Signal control on failures
Signal control is carried out when errors or failures occur in the communication. The following
cases are exemplified.
(i)
Loss of signal (LOS) in C37.94
If two or more errors are found in eight consecutive receive frames, an LOS (loss of signal)
command is issued within one millisecond in the GIF200 unit. The LOS command is cleared,
if erroneous data is not found in the last eight consecutive frames.
(ii)
MUX operation when LOS being detected
During LOS condition at its optical receive port, the GIF200 changes the “Yellow alarm bit” of
