2.3.3 Operation Mode
G1IF4 has two operation modes: on-line mode and test mode.
On-line mode is the normal operation mode. In Test mode, a test flag is added to all transmission
signals from relays.
2.3.4 Automatic Supervision
The automatic monitoring function detects failures that might occur within G1IF4. The
following items are monitored by the automatic supervision function:
- Binary input and output circuits
- Communication circuits for the station LAN, IEC60870-5-103 transmission network
- Processor (Watch Dog timer)
- Memory
- DC power supply circuit
When failures are detected by automatic monitoring, the "ALARM" LED on the front panel is
turned on and also detailed failure information is transmitted to station level control equipment
as event data.
The failure of the interface unit is indicated on the workstation at the station level, and its details
are also displayed on the local HMI.
2.3.4.1 Memory monitoring
The memories are monitored as follows depending on the type of memory:
Random access memory monitoring:
Writes/reads prescribed data and checks the storage function.
Program memory monitoring: Checks the checksum value of the written data.
Setting value monitoring:
Checks discrepancy between the setting values stored in
duplicate.
