Multimedia
Sound System
Sound Blaster™ Pro™ and Windows Sound
System compatible sound system provides
internal speakers as well as jacks for an external
microphone and headphone. It also has a
volume control dial.
S-Video Port
This S-Video jack lets you transfer NTSC or PAL
data to external devices.
Communications
Modem
An internal modem provides capability for data
and fax communication. It supports V.90
(V.92).The speed of data transfer and fax
depends on analog telephone line conditions. It
has a modem jack for connecting to a telephone
line. Both of V.90 and V.92 are supported only in
USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany and
Australia. Only V.90 is available in other regions.
LAN
The computer is equipped with a LAN card that
supports Ethernet LAN (10 Mbit/s, 10BASE-T) and
Fast Ethernet LAN (100 Mbit/s, 100BASE-Tx).
Wireless LAN
Some computers in this series are equipped with
a wireless LAN mini-PCI card that is compatible
with other LAN systems based on Direct
Sequence Spread Spectrum radio technology
that complies with the IEEE 802.11g, 802.11a/g
Standard (Revision A, B , G). Revision-A
supports data transfer up to 54 Mbit/s. Revision-
B supports data transfer up to 11, Mbit/s,
Revision-G supports data transfer up to
54 Mbit/s. It has Frequency Channel Selection
(5 GHz or 2.4 GHz) and allows roaming
overmultiple channels.
