Using a password in Windows NT
Workstation 4.0
If your computer’s operating system is Windows NT Workstation
4.0, you can set passwords by following these instructions.
Creating a user-level password
The user-level password is the basic level of password security.
For most users, this is all the password security you’ll need.
You may create a user-level password using either Toshiba
Utilities or System Setup. This section describes how to create a
user-level password in Toshiba Utilities and how to use it as an
instant and power-on password.
CAUTION: When you register a password in Toshiba
Utilities, you cannot create a password service diskette. If
you forget your password, you must contact your network
administrator before you can start your computer again. To
register a password and create a password service diskette,
see “Protecting against forgetfulness” on page 176 to use
System Setup.
To create (register) a user-level password in Toshiba Utilities:
1
Click
