Underside
The
expansion port
allows you to connect the computer to
an expansion device such as the optional Slim Port
Replicator. A shutter door protects this port.
The spring-loaded
main battery release latch
locks and
unlocks the battery module, which holds the main battery in
place.
The removable
main battery module
powers the computer
when you’re away from an AC power source. Using the main
battery, you can work without an external power source.

The
speaker
allows you to hear sounds, such as system
alarms or audio files played on optional media devices.
The
expansion memory slot cover
protects the slot that
holds any extra memory added to your computer. For more

The
hard disk drive cover
protects the slot that holds the
hard disk drive.
