If items other than the pump seals are worn or damaged, the gear pump must be
replaced as a complete assembly. Individual gears, housings and thrust plates
are not available separately. Disassemble, inspect, and assemble the gear pump
for cleaning, inspection and seal replacement only.
Disassembling the Gear Pump
1. Plug the pump ports and thoroughly clean the exterior of the pump with
cleaning solvent. Make sure the work area is clean.
2. Use a marker to make diagonal lines across the gear pump sections for
assembly purposes.
