—1) Park the mower on a level surface;
2) Check the oil level and the air filter; 3) Ensure the
traction-control bail is in the neutral position; 4) Start the
engine.

Engaging the aerating tines—lower the tine-control lever to
engage the tines; raise the tine—control lever to disengage
the tines.

Engaging the forward drive—hold the traction—control bail
against the handle to move the mower forward.
