Rotate the transmission gear counter clockwise 
all the way.  
Install the shift rod through the mount bracket. 

 
Install the pie gear onto the shift rod so that the 
3

rd

 tooth form the bottom on the pie gear is fully 

engaged with the transmission gear. Do not 
tighten the nut yet 

 
 
With the pie gear held in place as described 
above install the shift and nut and rotate the 
lever until the head of the bolt is resting against 
the mount bracket as seen hear. 

 
Torque the shift rod nut to 54nm (40ft lb)

As you move the transmission through the gears, 
the pie shaped gear should end up with 1 full 
tooth clear of engagement from the top of the 
pie shaped gear, as shown. Install the Fill and 
Drain plugs into the transmission case with new 

crush washers. 

 

 

 

Install the differential lock lever assembly. When 
installing the roller bearing (1) needs to be 

positioned towards the rear of the transmission 
and the lever (2) should point towards the front 
of the transmission. 
 
Tech Tip: Apply a small amount of grease to the 

roller bearing (1) to keep the bearing from 
falling off the diff. lock assembly during 
installation.
