Electromagnetic interference
If devices that emit electromagnetic radiation (e.g. mobile telephones or medical electrical
devices such as defibrillators or electrosurgical devices) are used too close to the MIRUS
Controller, the proper functioning of the MIRUS Controller may be impaired by electromagnetic
interference. This can put the patient at risk.
Do not use the MIRUS Controller in close proximity to an MRI unit.
Maintain an adequate distance between the MIRUS Controller and other medical
electrical devices, and check for normal operation before a patient is connected.
Do not use any portable or mobile HF communication systems, e.g. mobile phones, in
the vicinity of the MIRUS Controller (see “Guidelines and manufacturer's EMC
declaration”).
2.1.16 Infection risk
To avoid putting patients and users at an increased risk of infection from a contaminated
MIRUS Controller, the MIRUS Controller must be cleaned.
Observe the hygiene regulations in force at the location of use, including the cleaning
intervals and cleaning methods.
Perform the cleaning as described in Chapter 6.1.
Clean the MIRUS Controller before it is serviced and before it is returned for repair
purposes.
2.1.17 Maintenance
The MIRUS Controller must be serviced regularly and correctly. Otherwise, malfunctions can
occur which may endanger the patient and other persons or cause equipment damage.
Carry out the maintenance as described in Chapter 6.2.
Maintenance measures may only be performed by trained personnel.
Only perform maintenance work when no patient is connected to the MIRUS Controller.
2.1.18 Repairs
If repairs are required, the MIRUS Controller must be returned to the distributor/manufacturer.
Package the MIRUS Controller as described in Chapter 6.4 and ship.
