Top Cap Lubrication
The top cap slides on two linear bearings, each equipped with a grease
nipple.
Use a grease gun to lubricate both linear bearings monthly and anytime that
top cap motion becomes uneven or noisy.
•
Use a nozzle or coupler designed for standard grease fittings.
•
Use Molykote 44 or an equivalent bearing grease.
Blade Lubrication (option)
TigerSaw Miter for non-ferrous metal applications will be equipped with a
blade lubrication misting system. If present, this system will be located on
the back of the saw base. The lubrication system has adjustments for the
amount and density of coolant dispensed.
•
Insufficient coolant may reduce cut quality and blade lifespan
due to heat.
•
Too much coolant can bind chips together, increasing overall
heat build up.
•
When properly adjusted, there will be no lubricant splatter during
the cut and chips will be dry. Finished parts will have a very small
amount of lubricant on the cut surface.
Instructions for adjusting the lube mist system are located on the inside of
the lube mist system cover.
When the reservoir is low, refill it to 80% of capacity.
•
Use Unist Coolube 2210AL (for aluminum cutting).
•
Use Unist Coolube 2210 (for all other non-ferrous cutting).
Do not run the lube mist system empty. The lube mist system can be
deactivated with the silver collar on the incoming air (right). Slide the
collar away from the trap to deactivate the lube mist system.
