malfunctions

There is a noise

While cooking

or warming rice.

The fan makes a humming noise when it is operating; this

is not a malfunction. When the IH is operating, it makes

a high-pitched whining noise or a noise that sounds like

"chiriririri." These do not signal malfunctions.

It's making a noise that is

completely different from

a humming noise, a high-

pitched whining noise or

a noise that sounds like

"chiriririri"?

Contact the store where

the rice cooker was

purchased.

The stored current

time, preset time, and

elapsed warm keeping

time are lost when the

power plug (or the rice

cooker plug) is pulled

out.

Does “0:00” blink when

the power plug (and the

rice cooker plug) is (are)

inserted?

The lithium battery is

empty. Contact the store

where the rice cooker

was purchased  for repair.

41

The Audio Guide

is silent.

If you only hear a buzzer

when you press a key,

that means that the Audio

Guide is set to Voice

Recognition: No?

Set the Audio Guide to

Voice Recogni

tion: Yes.

13

If you press a key and the buzzer doesn't sound, contact

the store where you purchased the rice cooker about

repairs.

The Audio Guide

is hard to hear.

The volume is set to low?

Increase the volume for

the audio setti

ng.

13

In case

of odors

Smells of resin.

Is this the first time that the rice cooker is being used?

Such smells will vanish as the rice cooker gets used.

When

rice is

cooked

The Keep warm

lamp blinks.

When Keep Warm No and Oatmeal are selected, the Keep

Warm lamp flashes.

22

40

A rice crust forms.

The rice crust is

thin.

Because you are cooking rice in an earthenware pan,

a rice crust forms. The condition of the rice crust is

determined by the Heat adjustments.

19

20

During

warming

rice

The Keep Warm

elapsed time is

flashing.

If the set time for warming is exceeded, the Keep Warm

elapsed time display will flash.  (Do not warm food for

longer than the set time.)

22

32

35

38

The Immediate

warming function

cannot be used.

Is the inner pan inserted

correctly?

Insert the inner pan

correctly.

17

Time

Even when

Hour/Min

is pressed, the

time cannot be set.

The clock cannot be set while cooking

, warming, during

timer cooking or during timer soaking.

41

Main unit

malfunctions

The lid will not close.

Or the lid comes open

during cooking.

Is rice or uncooked rice stuck

to the upper casing, or around

the hook button or lid?

Remove them entirely

.

43

Pressing a key

causes no reaction

in the rice cooker.

Are the power plug and the

rice cooker plug properly

inserted into the AC

outlet and the rice cooker

receptacle respectively?

Be sure to properly insert

the power plug and the rice

cooker plug into the AC

outlet and the rice cooker

receptacle respectively.

17

Sparks fly from plug

Inserting the power plug into wall socket sometimes may

cause a small electric spark.

Plastic parts have

stripes or waves.

Such stripes and waves are produced when forming resin.

They cause no harm and do not affect the use of the rice

cooker.

The inner pan is

damaged, scratched

or cracked.

Purchase a new inner pan at the store where you purchased your

rice cooker.

The inner pan is

turning white.

Mineral components in the tap water are adhering to the surface;

this has no effect on quality of performance.

The inner pan is

scorched, and the

scorch marks cannot

be removed.

Did you prepare food using menu options other than Stew, Soup,

or Steam?

Or did you prepare food using recipes other than those in the

COOK BOOK?

20

33

Water or rice has

entered the rice

cooker body.

Water or rice may cause problems. Contact the store

where the rice cooker was purchased.

Display,

lamp, audio

malfunctions

Display unit blurs.

Are burns and rice grains

stuck to the gasket or brim

of the inner pan?

Remove them entirely.

17

43

Is the outer surface of the

inner pan wet?

Wipe the wet surface with

a dry cloth.

42

The display screen

went dark while I was

using the rice cooker.

When the main unit becomes hot, the display screen will become

dark; this is not a malfunction.

If these indications appear

Display

Action

See

page

Error! is displayed on the

screen and the rice cooker

is making a continuous "pi-"

sound, or a "pi-pi-pi-pi"

sound.

If you place the main unit in a very hot room or on a carpet,

etc., the intake and exhaust vents may be blocked and the

temperature may rise, causing not getting a response when

you press a key. Follow the steps below in such a case.

Unplug the cord.

Move the rice cooker to where the air intake and steam

vent are not blocked and the surrounding temperature is low.

Plug the cord into an electrical outlet and operate the keys.

*  If the rice cooker still does not work, there is something

wrong with it. Unplug the AC cord from the outlet and

contact the place of purchase for servicing.
