Cooking Steamed Dishes
(Steam Menu)
Keep Warm for Steam
When steaming is finished, the rice cooker will
automatically keep the food warm. The elapsed time
will be displayed in 1-hour units, up to 6 hours. If 6
hours is exceeded, a flashing 6 will be displayed.
When steaming is finished, press
Cancel
and
immediately remove the ingredients. If you leave
them in the rice cooker, the condensation on the
inner lid will drip on the food, making it sticky.
Consume as soon as possible.

After Using Cooker/Warmer.
Press the
key. Unplug the
power cord from the AC outlet
and disconnect the plug from the
rice cooker.
After steaming, be sure to clean the rice cooker on the
same day. → P.45

* Each time you press Hour , the time increases by
5 min., and each time you press Min , the time
decreases by 5 min. Set the amount of time from
5-60 min. in 5-min. increments.

Heating

8-15 pieces 20-25 min. Arrange evenly.
Do not steam ingredients larger than 4.0 cm in the 1.0L type
(5.5 cups) or larger than 4.5 cm in the 1.44L type (8 cups).
If the ingredients touch the inside of the lid during cooking,
they will become wet and soggy.

Remove the ingredients immediately.
A Keep Warm lamp will light up during warming.
Caution
Do not open the lid during the cooking cycle.
Doing so may cause the food to be improperly
cooked.
■When extending the
steaming time
While the Keep Warm lamp is lit up, press Hour and
Min , set the extended time, and press Start .
(You can extend the steaming period 3 times, for a
maximum of 15 min. each time.)
* When extending the steaming time, be sure to add
more water so that it doesn't all evaporate during
steaming. The inner pan could get damaged.
Caution
● The recommended times above may vary depending
on the temperature, quality and amount of the
ingredients.
●If the steaming is insufficient, extend the cooking time
while keeping an eye on the ingredients.
●If you steam meat and fish too long, they will become
tough. If you cannot steam for a short period of time,
slice thinly before steaming.
●When steaming fish and similar ingredients, always
be sure to wrap in aluminum foil. Otherwise, the rice
cooker may boil over.
Caution
The steam basket will be very hot when you remove it,
so be careful not to get burned.

Caution
If you press
Cancel
before extending the steaming
time, the Keep Warm lamp will go out and you will not
be able to continue steaming. If you have pressed it,
follow the steps below to continue steaming.
(1) Remove the inner pan and set it on a wet
kitchen towel.
(2) Leave the rice cooker lid open for about 10
minutes and cool the rice cooker and the
inner pan.
(3) Set the inner pan back in the rice cooker.
