Kalypso Reference Manual
Section 2 — Control Panels
To Copy an M/E, press
M/E Copy
, press the Mattes delegation button of the
source M/E, then press the Mattes delegation button of the destination
M/E.
To Swap M/Es, press
M/E Swap
, press the Mattes delegation button of the
first M/E to swap, then press the Mattes delegation button of the other
M/E to swap.
M/E Copy and Swap operates on the entire M/E regardless of mode or sec-
ondary assignments. For example, if a source M/E is split with the Double-
Take option and the destination M/E is not, after a copy both M/Es will be
split. Swaps behave in a similar manner, with the split setting and resource
assignments being swapped between the M/Es.
Button Tally
When the
M/E Copy
or
M/E Swap
button is pressed, that button will go high
tally and related delegation buttons in the Mattes subpanel will go low
tally. Pressing one of these low tally buttons specifies it as the source M/E,
and that button will then blink between high tally and low tally. The
remaining M/E buttons will blink between low tally and off. Pressing one
of those remaining buttons specifies the target, and the copy or swap oper-
ation will then occur. After the operation, all the button tallies will go off
and are then restored to the previous Matte modifier button tally state.
Undo Button
The
Undo
button in the Copy/Swap subpanel reverses a copy or swap oper-
ation that has been performed. Only one level of undo is supported. For
example, pressing
Undo
a second times does not return the M/Es to their
previous states before the first Undo was performed.
The remaining Copy and Swap buttons are inactive in Release 11.0
Re-Entry Restriction
When an M/E has selected a re-entry from another M/E, these M/Es
cannot be swapped or copied if it would make an M/E re-enter itself.
Attempts to do so will abort the operation and the Menu panel screen will
report
Reentry Conflict, Copy/Swap Failed
. Re-entry restriction applies to one re-
entry only. Copying or pasting M/Es with cascading re-entries can result
in M/Es that re-enter themselves.
Transform Engine Acquisition
If a Transform Engine is being used by a source M/E, a copy operation on
that M/E makes the destination M/E acquire a Transform Engine, if one is
available. Transform effects will then run the same on the new M/E. If a
Transform Engine is not available, the copy operation will complete but a
Transform Engine will not be acquired. In this situation a
No TE available for
<M/E> <Keyer>
message will be reported. (If more than one Transform Engine
fails to be acquired, the last selected keyer will be listed in the message.)
