08–00 Safety Precautions
Safety Precautions in this section apply to all
procedures within this group.
DANGER
When working on the vehicle, shut down the en-
gine or motor, set the parking brake, and chock
the tires. Before working under the vehicle, always
place jack stands under the frame rails to ensure
the vehicle cannot drop. Failure to follow these
steps could result in serious personal injury or
death.
08–01 Torque Mark Inspection,
Electric Vehicle
1.
Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down
the engine, and set the parking brake. Chock the
rear tires.
NOTE: The electric motor and transmission are
built together as an assembly and attached to
the chassis with four mounting brackets; two
brackets and bolts support the electric motor
and two brackets and bolts support the trans-
mission.
2.
Inspect the mounting brackets and ensure that
torque seal is present on the isolator bolt of each
bracket. See
3.
If torque seal is not present on one or more of
the four isolator bolts, check and tighten the
torque of the bolt(s) using a torque wrench set to
174 lbf·ft (236 N·m).
4.
Remove the chocks from the tires.
