Auto Focus
Settings Defines settings for focusing the sample while collecting a mosaic in
the Acquisition window, and for applying the focus (Z height)
information while collecting data in
Live Spectrum mode and Image
Regions mode . Settings are used only when the Auto Focus On/Off
indicator is selected.
These options are available for adjusting the auto focus:
• Video auto focus mode and settings:
– Each video image . Brings the sample area into focus before
adding each static picture to the mosaic.
– Every __ μm . Focuses the sample whenever the stage is more
than the specified distance from the nearest focus location
during collection of a mosaic.
• Spectral auto focus mode and settings:
– Limit spectral range . Allows you to limit the frequency range
used for spectral auto focus in order to emphasize specific
features in the spectral data. To set this feature, collect a
mosaic, choose
Live Spectrum mode , click a point of interest
in the mosaic to acquire a spectrum at that location. Locate a
region of interest in the displayed spectrum. Enter the region’s
minimum and maximum X-axis values in the Spectral auto
focus settings. The software will create the mosaic and apply
the focus (Z height) information during data collection in
order to maximize the features in the selected region. Setting
is applied only when
Auto Focus On/Off indicator is selected.
