and current consumption of the fans are directly dependent on the ambient temperature (air density)
and can also be higher than the information on the type plate at cold temperatures.
When carrying out the installation, it should be noted that moisture can condense and dripping water
can also form inside the junction boxes! Under certain circumstances, fans should be kept at a
standstill in a cold environment by means of anti-condensation heating to prevent the ingress of
condensation.
If the fans are equipped with condensation drainage holes, the bottom ones must be opened! Failure
to comply will void the warranty!
Fan nozzles and fan blades must be kept free of ice! Ice residues on the fan blades cause imbalances
and lead to the destruction of the fan! Failure to comply will void the warranty!
For all work on fans and motors as well as cleaning work between the fans and the heat
exchanger coil, the power supply must be interrupted with suitable protection against being
switched on again!
After completion of repair and maintenance work, do not leave any objects in the vicinity of the fan
as these can lead to malfunctions or damage to the fan or heat exchanger when switched on again.
After dismantling the fans and reinstalling them, it is essential to check that they are running free.
In case of longer system downtimes, e.g., storage, the fans must be put into operation for approx. 3
to 4 hours per month in order to evaporate any condensate that may have entered and rotate the
bearings.
When connecting the device or supplementary installations, the degree of protection must be
observed. In particular, the seals of the cable glands and terminal covers must be checked for
intactness and correct seating
Documentation and data sheets of the installed units (e.g., for information on equipotential bonding,
potential earth, etc.) are required.
5.2 Fans with external rotor motors
All series units supplied by thermofin® are equipped with maintenance-free, energy-saving fans from
well-known manufacturers. Regardless of this, fans should be checked for function, bearing noise,
free running and imbalance in accordance with the inspection and maintenance plan (point 7). In
addition, the terminal covers should be checked for firm seating and tightness. Since the bearings
are maintenance-free at the factory and lubricated for life, there is no need for a separate inspection.
In case of longer system downtimes, e.g., storage, the fans must be put into operation for
approx. 3 to 4 hours per month in order to evaporate any condensate that may have entered
and rotate the bearings.
