Technical Description:
System
The Prima PRO instrument is an industrial process analyser based on
a scanning magnetic-sector mass spectrometer with a 6 cm radius.
The variable magnetic field is produced by an electromagnet with a
laminated core that enables rapid and extremely stable analysis of
multiple user defined gases.
The instrument is designed for continuous operation in a process
environment and is configured for ease of maintenance and
simplicity of operation. With the exception of the host PC, all
components are mounted either within or on the instrument enclosure
and are modular for ease of replacement.

Component
Description
Data system
Control of all the Prima PRO functions is via an
integral embedded processor in the instrument
enclosure.
This processor also handles communication with
the host PC, DCS, etc.
Electronics
Provides the required power supplies, etc. for the
mass spectrometer.
Analyser
Comprises ion source housing, magnet assembly,
and detector housing (collector area).
Rotary pump
Provide backing pressure for evacuating the
analyser and also provides inlet pumping.
High vacuum
pump
Turbo molecular pump and controller.
