7.1.10 Restrictions for the Movements
There are some restrictions for running the different motors
•
The tip shield cannot be turned under the tips unless both the head/tips and the magnets are
out of the way
•
The head cannot be run down unless the tip shield is out of the way.
•
The magnets cannot be run down if the tips or the magnets are not attached. This is to prevent
soaking the magnets or running a sequence without the magnets.
•
Magnets can only be run to 0 or a negative position if the starting position is negative. This is
because the negative positions are used for picking and releasing the tips and in negative
positions it cannot be determined if the tips are attached or not.
•
The turntable cannot be run if the heater is up.
If a command violates these restrictions, it will not be executed and an error is reported.
7.1.11 Command Set Reference
7.1.11.1 Abort
This command aborts execution of current command in the instrument. The abort command is
always processed before any other commands in the instrument’s receive queue and it flushes
the receive queue. The head is driven up, tip shield to pos shield, the magnets are driven up,
heater is driven down and the roundtable is driven to pos 1.
The Abort command differs from all other commands in that it is a single character command.
When the Abort command is received, any pending error or warning code is cleared. However,
errors during execution of the Abort sequence are reported.

7.1.11.2 BGN – starts a sequence from memory
This command starts a sequence from internal memory.
