Keeping Leaks Under Control

OPERATING SEQUENCE
Performing an Automatic Leak Check
When you perform an automatic leak check of the FOCUS GC system, the GC
measures the column flow with a true mass flow sensor and compares it to a
calculated flow value obtained from the original column constant to see if the
numbers match. The instrument detects a gas leak if there is a significant
difference between the two values.
To start the leak check operate as follows:
1. In Main Menu move the cursor until
Carrier
is selected, then press
ENTER
.
2. Scroll to
Leak check
and press
ENTER
to open
Leak Check
menu.
3. To start column evaluation, scroll to
Run leak check
and press
ENTER
.
4. The system is automatically pressurized with carrier gas and sealed to
perform leak check.
NOTE
To exit
LEAK CHECK
menu without performing column evaluation, scroll to Exit w/o leak
check and press ENTER.
Leak check cannot be started in the following cases:
CARRIER (He)
Leak Check
LEAK CHECK
Run leak check
Exit w/o leak check
LEAK CHECK
Oven not ready
