Inlet Valve Plug

The inlet valve plug seals the opening of the inlet valve when it is not in use. The inlet valve
plug is etched with “EI” on one side and “CI” on the other to remind you whether an EI or
CI ion volume is installed.

Inlet Valve Seal

An inlet valve seal forms a vacuum-tight seal over the shaft of the I/R tool when it is inserted
into the inlet valve. The inlet valve knob allows you to tighten the seal against the I/R tool to
form a vacuum-tight seal or you can loosen it to allow the I/R tool to be inserted and
removed. You should replace the inlet valve seal periodically.
