The serial port signals are shown in the TVME8240 pin function. E.g. for serial port A the
external TXD line must be connected to pin 2 (RXD input) of the serial port A connector, not to
pin 3 (TXD output).
The serial interface signals are also available on the VME P2 connector.
For each serial port only one connection scheme is allowed at a time, either via the VME P2
connector or via the DB9 connector at the front plate.
Serial port A mode is RS232 always. Serial port B mode is configurable by an adapter card.
Factory default is RS232 adapter card. A RS422 adapter card can be ordered.
