LOWER BOOM LIFTING ATTACHMENTS
The Aerial Device may be equipped with one of several optional lifting devices on the lower boom.
• Hydraulic winch with manual or hydraulic extending jib.
• A control handle is provided at the lower control station for winch up/down operation. The jib may be
positioned at different extensions by removing the manual pin, positioning the jib at the desired
extension and then replacing the pin.
When utilizing one of these lifting devices operate the Aerial Device from the lower
controls with no one in the personnel platform(s).
The upper boom should be raised out of the boom rest approximately twenty degrees
(20) such that platforms will clear platform rests. Do not raise upper boom more than
forty-five degrees (45).
Refer to load charts located at lower control station to determine load that may be lifted.
Never exceed the rated load capacity of the Aerial Device. Structural damage or
instability can result causing death or serious injury.
Increasing the horizontal distance from the vehicle to the load will affect the stability of
the vehicle. Be careful when lifting and lowering a load with the boom.
The platform shall not be used for material handling.
Do not open upper boom more than 45 degrees from lower boom.
