BOOM LIFTING EYE MATERIAL HANDLING (OPTIONAL)
A lifting eye may be provided to be used for limited material handling. For maximum lifting capacity, refer to
the load chart installed on the Aerial Device.
• Always extend the outriggers.
• Boom movements should be smooth to avoid swinging the load.
• Operate only from the lower control station.
• Do not exceed the load limits stated on the decal beside the lifting eye.
• To prevent damage to the Aerial Device, avoid dragging the loads with the lifting eye. This would
subject the Aerial Device to damaging side loads.
• When lifting loads, position the boom directly over the load before lifting.
• Be aware of platform location. Raise boom so platform clears the body and other objects.
• The platform shall not be used for material handling.
Never exceed the rated load capacity of the Aerial Device. Structural damage or
instability can result causing death or serious injury.
When the vehicle is not level, extreme caution must be used when rotating loads to
the low side because the vehicle's stability will be affected.
Increasing the horizontal distance from the vehicle to the load will affect the
stability of the vehicle. Be careful when lifting and lowering a load with the boom.
Any hooks used in conjunction with the lifting eye must be equipped with a safety
latch.
No personnel allowed inside the platform when using the lower boom lifting eye.
Serious personal injury or death could result.
Be sure load line is capable of lifting the load and inspect before use. Personal
injury or death could result if load line breaks when lifting the load.
