With the carbon brushes removed, identify the two nuts

that fasten the cover to the motor body.

With a 7 mm / 0,28 in spanner, unscrew the two nuts

, holding the bolts

on the opposite side.

With a plastic mallet, tap the side of the cover to detach it from the motor body.

Holding the cover by hand, remove the spade

that connects the carbon brushes to the cover.

Replace the carbon brushes with new ones.

If replacing the bearing

, to remove it from the shaft use a special puller.

Check where the carbon brushes slide on the rotor that there is not excessive wear.

Check that the bearing

is in intact, check the colour of the outside ring, if the steel tends to be purple,
it has heated up excessively. Turning it by hand, make sure that there is no wear, it rotates smoothly
and is not particularly noisy.

Check that the motor protector

is securely connected to the base, and that there are no scratches.

To assemble the new carbon brushes, complete the dismantling operations in reverse.

Make sure there is slight resistance when fitting the cover, otherwise check.
