UPS Battery
Replacement
Procedure
The replacement battery assembly includes a metal bracket and cable assembly.
To replace the NET-PATH UPS battery

Remove the commercial power connection from the rear of the NET-PATH.

Use the LCD panel navigation buttons to scroll though the menu and select Safe
Shutdown.

Disconnect the cables from the back of the NET-PATH. Be sure to mark your
cables so you can reconnect them quickly.

Remove the NET-PATH from the rack.

Remove the screws that secure the NET-PATH cover to the chassis.

Carefully lift the cover off to expose the battery. Be careful not to disturb the
ribbon cable connection to the LCD panel.

Disconnect the battery power connector from the main board.

Carefully remove the screws that secures the battery chassis. The screws are
located on the bottom of the NET-PATH.

Carefully lift the battery out of the NET-PATH.

Insert the new battery assembly and secure it with the retaining screws. Be sure
the new battery has the same physical and electrical orientation as the old battery.

Attach the new battery power connector to the main board making sure the red
wire is on the left when viewed from the front of the NET-PATH. Be careful. The
connector is keyed, but it is possible to force it in backwards. This will change
the polarity of the battery and will damage the NET-PATH.

Reinstall the cover and replace the retaining screws.

Insert the NET-PATH into the rack and secure it. Attach the cables to NET-PATH.

Apply power to the unit.
Disconnect the power.
