Updating Capture using Secured Version Control
and ComponentPacs
ComponentPacs are software libraries that do the "heavy lifting" of managing the
actions, such as Capture. ComponentPacs are part of Telestream's Secure Version
Control feature. For details, see the
Secured Version Control application note
on the
Telestream web site.
Secured Version Control provides the ability to install the latest software—and begin
building workflows that utilize new ComponentPac libraries, while keeping the existing
workflows untouched and operating from previous versions of a ComponentPac.
When, and if, it is desired to upgrade a workflow or action within a workflow, it can be
done at a convenient time. Secured Version Control has been implemented as part of
Lightspeed Live Capture and Vantage v7.0. ComponentPacs are architected in such a
way as to facilitate the inclusion of multiple component versions.
With Secured Version Control, it is quite easy to manage the ComponentPac versions
within workflows. When you hover over the "i" icon at the top left corner of an action,
information is displayed which includes the version of the ComponentPac library. In the
following image, the Capture action's ComponentPac is shown as "Capture
7.0.0.197022".

Secured Version Control application note
