Configuring Ingest Sources
Before the channel groups and sources can be accessed by the Lightspeed Live Capture
or Tape Capture web app, they need to be defined. This allows the system to work with
the sources according to your workflow and Lightspeed Live Capture or Tape Capture
web app configurations. The workflows and web apps work together, and the
beginning of the inter-operation is to define nexus channel groups and source inputs.
Note:
If you have already configured input sources using the Source Manager app
(http://localhost:8090), you will still need to create a Nexus, but you can skip
configuring SDI, IP, and other sources in Vantage as explained by topics below.
Configuring a Channel Group Nexus
Lightspeed Live Capture uses the concept of a nexus to group related video source
channels together. For example, one group of sources might be camera video feeds
coming from the same studio, and another group might come from another studio. A
single source can be referenced in multiple workflows and, hence, in more than one
nexus. The Nexus Definitions created here are called
Channel Groups
in the Lightspeed
Live Capture web application. There are two types of definitions; one when capturing
from a live source and another when controlling a VTR when capturing from tape. See
Lightspeed Live Capture Web App Overview
Follow these steps to configure a nexus and an inventory of video sources:
