Managing and Configuring Sources

Note:

The process of managing and configuring input sources for Live Capture has

changed in v3.0 (and later). All source management and configuration should now be
done from the

Source Manager

page (see below for details). The Capture Inventory

panel within the Vantage Management Console should be used for discovering
Workflows and Previewing the Inputs only.

Before capture video sources can be used, they need to be configured using the Source
Manager web app located at

http://localhost:8090/

 or

http://[hostname]:8090/

.

Up to four SDI streaming video sources, such as those from live cameras, can be connected
through the SDI Input connectors on the back panel of the Lightspeed Live Server. You can
also add IP-based RTMP and Transport Streams from your Ethernet connection.

Sources display the current input or the LOS Video Test Pattern that is selected in the
Configure Source dialog if there is no input. SDI inputs can be combined to make a
single 4K input. You can edit SDI sources but not delete them. They update when you
change the SDI input source. For supported formats see

SDI Card Input Formats

.

When there are multiple Lightspeed Live servers, the list of Sources in the Live Stream web
app is separated into a panel for each server, and each panel can be expanded and collapsed.

These are the source configuration topics covered here:

Sources Overview

Configuring an SDI Source

Configuring a File Loop Source

Configuring a Transport Stream Source

Configuring an RTMP Source

Managing and Configuring Audio Tracks

Note:

Sources cannot be edited when they are being used by an active Channel.
