Retrieve the handheld unit from its
location.

Push on the dust cup release button,
see picture 1.
3.
Uncouple the 2 parts of the handheld
unit, see picture 2.
4.
Remove the filter and the filter
protector from the dust cup, see picture
3.
5.
Empty the dust cup.
6.
Follow the reverse step to assemble
the handheld unit.
