S Phosphor
Replacement
In some instances, it may become desirable to change the phosphor mounted on the
fiber optic taper.
CAUTION!
!
Observe the following cautions when handling Beryllium:
• To avoid oil transfer from your fingers, do not touch
the Beryllium window at the front of the camera
without vinyl gloves.
• Avoid abrasion of the Beryllium window since
powdered Beryllium is highly toxic if ingested.
Beryllium should never be handled in a way that
places personnel at risk.

C.1 Required Items
The following tools are required to perform procedures in this appendix:
• Thin, non-powdered, vinyl gloves;
• 3/32" Hex key;
• Acetone
• Lens tissue or lint free cloth;
• Torque driver with 3/32" bit.
C.2 Remove the Beryllium Window Assembly
Perform the following procedure to safely remove the Beryllium window assembly:
CAUTION!
!
If the camera has been in use, allow a minimum of 1 hour
warm-up time to avoid thermal shock while handling the
phosphor plate.
1. Put on vinyl protective gloves.
2. Disconnect any cables and hoses from the camera.
3. Position the camera with its nose pointing up.
