re and shock, ensure that the AC supply voltage

uctuations do not exceed 10% of the operating voltage range.
To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, do not connect your OM4000 to a
power source if there are any signs of damage to the instrument enclosure.
WARNING.
Always connect the unit directly to a grounded power outlet.
Operating the OM instrument without connection to a grounded power source
could result in serious electrical shock.
CAUTION.
Protective features of the OM4000 instrument may be impaired if the
unit is used in a manner not speci

ed by Tektronix.
Connecting the power cable.
Connect the power cable to the instrument
fi
rst, and
then connect the power cable to the AC power source. Install or position the
OM4000 instrument so that you can easily access the rear-panel power switch.
Power on the instrument (rear-panel power switch and front-panel standby power
switch). After powering on, make sure that the fan on the rear panel is working.
If the fan is not working, turn off the power by disconnecting the power cable
from the AC power source, and then contact your local Tektronix Field Of
fi
ce
or representative.
