Rear-panel overview
The rear panel of the 6517B is shown in the following figure. The descriptions of the rear-panel
components follow the figure.

1 INPUT CONNECTOR
Unguarded configuration: Disable GUARD for current, resistance, charge, and unguarded voltage
measurements.
Guarded configuration: Enable GUARD for guarded voltage measurements.

2 PREAMP OUT
Follows the signal amplitude applied to the INPUT terminal. When GUARD is on, PREAMP OUT
is internally connected to the inner shell of the INPUT triaxial connector to configure the input for
guarded voltage measurements. See "Preamplifier output" in the
Model 6517B Reference Manual
for more information.
