Basic mode: Harmonics distortion test
This test veri
fi
es the harmonic distortion using a spectrum analyzer. The generator
should be set to Basic mode operation.
1.
Connect the generator to the spectrum analyzer as shown in the following
fi
gure.

2.
Push the Default front-panel button and OK menu button to recall the
generator default setup.
3.
Set up the generator using the following steps:

4.
Set up the spectrum analyzer according the frequency setup of the generator.
5.
Set the Ref Level of the spectrum analyzer to 10 dBm.
6.
Read the signal level in the Fundamental frequency for each signal. Use this
level as a reference value.
7.
Verify that the differences between the reference level and the signal level in
the frequency of higher-order at each frequency are below the limit speci
fi
ed
in the following tables.
8.
Repeat steps 2 through 4 for the CH1–, CH2+, and CH2– outputs.
