10. Set the A SEC/D1V switch to a position that displays
several cycles o f the signal.
11. Measure the divisions o f vertical deflection between
the reference line and the desired point on the waveform
at which the dc level is to be determined (see Figure 13).

12. Calculate the instantaneous voltage, using the follow

EXAMPLE: The measured vertical deflection from the
reference line is 4.6 divisions (see Figure 13), the wave
form is above the reference line, the VO LTS/D IV switch
is set to 2, and a 10X attenuator probe is being used.
Substituting the given values:
Instantaneous Voltage = 4.6 div x (+1) x 2 V/div
x 10 = 92 V.
