13 Handling together with test-pumps
13.1 General
Please read these instruction carefully prior to setting up and using the test-pumps. The pressure
built up internally during use can be extremely high. Ensure that all connections are made
correctly.
Requirements for working with test specimen:
Care must be taken to ensure that the test specimen is not a source of danger, especially to
human life (free of hazardous media, no radioactivity, etc.).
The safety guidelines that apply to the test specimen have to be understood and obeyed.
The current condition of the test specimen should comply with generally acknowledged prior art
rules as well as the special provisions laid down in the manufacturer documentation.
Regarding calibrations:
Quality and function tests have to be performed to determine whether the calibration object can be
calibrated.
The uncertainty of measurement of the reference or working standard used should not exceed ¼
of the desired uncertainty of measurement of the calibration object (test specimen).
The test pumps mentioned in this chapter need no maintenance but it is important that they are not
polluted by the test specimen and that they above all do not come into contact with aggressive
media.
